I Love YAHOO SERVICES very much .Especially YAHOO MESSENGER .I came across the yahoo answers services .I found a major defect in it .

Usually Answers are written by people who are looking for the solution to the same problem .They must also be searching for the same solution .

The general idea on the majority of people who reply to questions on yahoo answers

1. People who are searching for the solution or answer to same question.

2. people who know some partial answers and are not sure about it and they give what they know as answers just to get comfirmation from others or to get a test dummy for their doubts.

3. People who know the perfect solution from their own personal experience(They find the questions accidentally (for eg)finding a question about “hair loss due to die chemicals” while searching for details about “hair colouring”)

So when a person searches for the answer -He finds the question -perfect match to his query ….But……

Inside he finds bunch of people with similar query or with partial solution to the query .

WHY THIS HAPPENS ?

This happens because people who are searching for an answer (for eg )-say a medicine for a disease and let us consider he/she does not get the answer.

He/She will definitely find a solution one way or the other but he/she wont be considering seriously sharing it with those who were suffering with her. Mainly because she would have gone through several web pages or questions through internet and she cant decide where to answer and where to find the questions that she went through. In brief people dont volunteer in helping others unless they get the opportunity right in their doorstep.

MY RECOMMENDATION

I like the design of the Yahoo answers .It is very userfriendly .The option for providing vote for the best answer is a note worty feature. But still there are a few features that needs to be updated so that Yahoo answers can emerge as the best knowledge source on INTERNET. Lets get to the point .

YAHOO ANSWERS works mainly on user knowledge and hence a very very user friendly feature has to be provided for individual users. I’ll explain in Detail.

Every user should be recognized [say by logging in ]. The users must  sign in so that, he can be tracked .

1.Their interests

2.questions where they answered

3.questions where they voted

4.questions where they just visited

should be tracked. These details should be brought to their notice when they stay at YAHOO ANSWERS [Say on one side of the page].

The home page for the user should have a wide range of details like…..

Consider classifying into three categories

1. Answered questions

2. Voted questions

3. Visited questions

In each category, the list of questions should be listed, with an option to answer (button) next to each question ,and should be marked with increase in success rate with a green upward arrow and decrease in success rate with a downward red arrow.

Further the three categories can also be further listed into two

1. Questions with most improved success rate since last visit

2. Recently updated questions since last visit

An interface should be provided for the users so that they can keep in touch with the questions they were searching for an answer. This will motivate them to consider answering the questions for which they have found the answer and also will help them to track the questions that they were interested in .

Finally ,the quality of the  user’s answers should be tracked and the  individual user should be rated(from the votes they get) .

The answer from the top rated users  should  by default appear on top of the answers until votes for that particular question begins to appear.

I still think there is lot more to be improved……….Kindly  share your suggestions………

Well, piano’s have more keys for starters….it is something like 17 more keys or something…..

Piano’s have more pedals which are more efficient (if you buy sustain jacks for keyboards, when you release the pedal it stops abruptly, whereas on a piano it stops gentally….)

Piano’s sound and feel soooo much nicer to play – the sounds is so much more amazing and even with the digital sampling technolgy on keyboards these days which is great, but nothing beats the real thing.

usually a keyboard is a synthesizer (meaning it comes with a few instrument sounds prerecorded) and a piano will be the instrument with 88 keys and uses levers and hammers to strike a string that then vibrates back and forth to create the sound and pitch Keyboard’s are electric, pianos aren’t

keyboard’s will do for beginners, as you don’t need as many keys and don’t use the pedal yet and stuff, but piano’s are definately a whole world better!!!!

Extraordianry men are always extraordinary in their thinking not just by coincidence. Their extraordinary acheivements are derivation of their extra ordinary thoughts .I read the letters to the editor on THE HINDU newspaper today and found  the following .The information was provided by Mr.Natwar Singh.

“To mark the first anniversary of their landing on the moon on 20.7.1969, Armstrong and Aldrin undertook a world tour. One of their important stops was New Delhi, to meet Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and to present her a fragment of the moon rock. The meeting took place in the Prime Minister’s office in Parliament House. I conducted the two lunar heroes to her room. The U.S. Ambassador was also present.

The Prime Minister, if she was meeting someone she did not personally know, was always amiable but distant. After the photographers had departed, there was an awkward silence. She looked at me. Signal enough for me to speak up. “Mr. Armstrong, you will be interested to know that the Prime Minister kept awake till 4 a.m., so as not to miss the exact time of your lunar landing.”

Neil Armstrong rose to the occasion. “I apologise for the inconvenience we caused you, Madam Prime Minister. Next time, I shall make sure that we land on the moon at a less unearthly hour.” Touche.

People always remember and celebrate the acheivements of people and often forget the force that had driven them. The statement made by Neil Armstrong shows his love and respect  towards mankind and his sincerity in serving it.

IF YOU WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERNCE – YOU NEED TO BE DIFFERENT

Have you heard of the word SUE . It means -to institute a process in law against; bring a civil action against: to sue someone for damages.

Sueing a person or a company in court of law is – filing a complaint about the damage or loss they have caused. But this does not often happen in INDIA. Even though some people try , they usually fail .

My Brother’s family  in America  say that ,Sueing is considered  as the right of an individual in America. People in America sue for everything ,sometimes for silly reasons .This is one of the major reasons for the well organized working of the Government offices, Mirror  like roads etc ….etc…..in America.

If we compare between INDIA and AMERICA. They are at the north and south pole in the art of sueing. hee…..hee…heee……… I came across some funny incidents and  i thought I should share it with You .

In INDIA

1. Petition against tax exemption to films with Tamil names dismissed

Madras High Court on Tuesday dismissed a petition seeking to quash a Tamil Nadu government order exempting Tamil films with names in Tamil from entertainment tax.

In their order, a Division Bench, comprising Chief Justice H L Gokhale and Justice K Venkataraman, cited the Supreme Court which time and again had held that it was for a state to pick and choose the area of taxation.

‘Hence it is not possible for this court to grant any relief’, the Judges said and dismissed the petition.

2 .Delhi court ordered a restaurant to pay one rupee as compensation.

A guy went to a restaurant in delhi with his family and ordered food . He found the food contaminated and filed a

case in court . The restaurant offered his family a free meal but he rejected their offer . Finally the court found that the restaurant is

guilty and ordered the restaurant to pay 1 rupee as compensation .

In US

1. Women sued the water suppliers for distributing water very hot

A women in America sued a water supplier company to the house  for a large sum of money stating that ,”the water was too hot and it

caused my hand to burn” .The court ordered the company to pay a large sum of money to the women as a compensation for its

carelessness.

2. A guy sued Coke company stating that he found an insect in the bottle he purchased.

The court ordered Coke company to give a large sum of money as compensation to the guy and also a new bottle of Coke.

Sounds cool……. isn’t it………?

Are college dropouts more successful than people with good education? It would seem so if you consider that many billionaires are people who dumped college. However, what this hides is the fact that although millions quit studies before completing them, very few of them go on to become rich.
What the list of the super-rich dropouts signifies is that in business, a top degree is not as important as having the right aptitude, attitude, determination and vision.
Here are some dropouts who went on to become billionaires:

Bill Gates

William Henry Gates III (1955-), along with Paul Allen, co-founded Microsoft Corporation, the world’s largest software maker. Bill Gates, the wealthiest person in the world with an estimated net worth of $480 crores (Rs 211,200 crore!), is probably the best-known college dropout.
Gates attended an exclusive prep school in Seattle, went on to study at Harvard University, then dropped out to pursue software development. As students in the mid-70s, he and Paul Allen wrote the original Altair BASIC interpreter for the Altair 8800, the first commercially successful PC.

Larry Ellison

Subhash Chandra Goel

Here’s something not many people know about Subhash Chandra Goel : The Zee chairman dropped out after standard 12.
Subhash Chandra started his own vegetable oils unit at 19. It was, in a manner of speaking, his first job. Years later, a casual visit to a friend at Doordarshan gave him the idea of starting his own broadcasting company. We all know how that story ran.
Chandra knew nothing about programming, distribution or film rights. What he did understand quite well was the Indian sensibility though. Funded by UK businessmen, Zee came into being as India’s first satellite TV network.
Today, it reaches 320 lakhs homes, connecting with 20 crores people in South Asia alone.
